About Us

Balance Point Triathlon is a triathlon club located in London, Ontario. We welcome athletes of all ages and ability levels. Current athletes range from age group World Championship qualifiers, Ironman, Half Ironman athletes, Olympic distance and Sprint athletes to beginner triathletes working towards their first triathlons. Alongside our adult program Balance Point Triathlon has an active Youth Program with programs ranging from our Kids Club up to our Youth Development Team. The club is built around the philosopy triathlon success requires a special balance between sport science and sport psychology. Group workouts are geared toward the group as a whole as well as towards individual goals.

BPT Membership

Summer Season

May - September


In the summer months, members have access to open water swimming, training rides, runs and brick workouts in addition to morning pool swims. The club organizes a monthly biking time trial and skills sessions as well.

  • Tuesday - Early morning Pool Swim, Evening Track & Pool Swim
  • Wednesday - Brick (Bike/Run), Bike TT every 4th week
  • Thursday - Early morning Pool Swim
  • Saturday - Open Water Swim/Bike/Run

Winter Season

October - April


In the winter, members have access to an array of morning, afternoon and evening swims. Track workouts and a long run meetup are offered weekly, as are virtual ride meet-ups and group bike trainer classes.

  • Tuesday - Zwift Meetup
  • Wednesday - Indoor run track workout
  • Thursday - Indoor Spin (watts) workout
  • Saturday - Trail Run (Type of trail depending on weather condition)

There are multiple swim workouts through out the week at different locations: Boy's & Girl's Club, YMCA and Western.

  • At the end of 2021, my 13-year-old son, who was newly into road biking, thought it would be exciting to learn running and swimming. He started training with the BPT Youth Development Team. When dropping him off for his training sessions, I saw other athletes closer to my age (50s) working out. At BPT there is a wide variety of athletes. Some are trying to get into shape to finish their first triathlon and others are trying to qualify for their next Ironman race. I decided to start training with the group and in the summer of 2022, I competed in Tri-a-Tri and sprint distance triathlons. I do not know if a full Ironman is in my future, but I do know that BPT is helping me reach my current goal of completing an Olympic distance triathlon. Whether you are looking to try the sport of triathlon or are looking to compete at a higher level, BPT is an excellent training ground.
